A brief note about the .AVI clips. They were generated using the Indeo
Video Compressor by Intel. To view these clips, you will need
version 5.0 (or later) of Intel's Indeo Video Decompressor (sorry if you don't already
have it, but the file
sizes are 4 times larger otherwise). Under Windows 95, you can see which
codecs (COmpressors/DECcompressors) you have by clicking Start |
Settings | Control Panel then double-clicking Multimedia |
Video Compression Codecs in the Advanced tab. The driver
can be downloaded for free from
http://www.intel.com/ial/indeo/video/driver.htm. Once you download and
install the driver, your existing video players will automagically know
when and how to use the new driver.
If you can't view the AVI files, try the animated GIFs instead (if available).
There's no sound and some frames were removed to keep the file
sizes down. They definitely lose something in the translation.
Update 11/01/01 - Camcorder is broken again, that's why there haven't been
any movies for a while. (Plus I'm already on the edge of my 10 MB worth
of server space anyway.)
